　　As the pace of life quickens and the pressure from our work increases, some people say that we are becoming more gloomy and unhappy with each passing day. They believe that, in fact, we are losing our ability to laugh. They also hold that if we laugh more often we will feel happier and be more healthy because "laughter is the best medicine".

　　What they say seems radical, but in fact not radical at ail. Laughter can really bring us a lot of benefits. First, laughter has a similar effect to physical exercise. It speeds up our heart rate,increases our blood pressure and quickens our breathing. It also makes our facial and stomach muscles work. In fact, it is a kind of "jogging" on the spot. Next, laughter is a kind of pain relief. When we laugh, we produce a kind of chemical materials in our body that helps us to relieve pain. In addition, laughter stimulates our immune system, preventing us from being infected by diseases. Third, laughter improves our state of mind and affects our entire physical well beings. Laughter helps us feel healthy and alive. Each time we laugh, we feel better and more content. Finally, laughter helps to ease the tension between people. 　　英語作文類型會涉及應用文，包括私人和公務信函、備忘錄、摘要、報告等，還有一般描述性、敘述性、說明或議論性的文章。短文寫作時，考生應能：

　　1、做到語法、拼寫、標點正確，用詞恰當

　　2、遵循文章的特定文體格式

　　3、合理組織文章結構，使其內容統(tǒng)一、連貫

　　4、根據(jù)寫作目的和特定讀者，恰當選用語言

　　作為閱卷老師，評定短文寫作的成績，首先看內容是否切題，是否符合題意的要求，然后看語言表達是否清楚、連貫、正確，語言基本功是否扎實，根據(jù)內容、文字、句子和用詞，采用通篇分檔計分，計分標準如下：

　　一、評分原則和方法

　　1、A節(jié)應用文的評分側重點在于信息點的覆蓋和內容的組織、語言的準確性、格式和語域的恰當。對語法結構和詞匯多樣性的要求將根據(jù)具體試題做調整。允許在作文中使用提示語中出現(xiàn)的關鍵詞，但使用提示語中出現(xiàn)過的詞組或句子將被扣分。B節(jié)作文的評分重點在于內容的完整性、文章的組織連貫性、語法結構和詞匯的多樣性及語言的準確性。

　　2、評分時，先根據(jù)文章的內容和語言確定其所屬檔次，然后以該檔次的要求來給分。評分人員在檔內有1-3分的調節(jié)分。

　　3、A節(jié)作文的字數(shù)要求是100詞左右。B節(jié)作文的字數(shù)要求是160-200詞。文章長度不符合要求的'，酌情扣分。

　　4、拼寫與標點符號是語言準確性的一個方面。評分時，視其對交際的影響程度予以考慮。英、美拼寫及詞匯用法均可接受。

　　5、如書寫較差，以致影響交際，將分數(shù)降低一個檔次。

　　二、一般評分標準

　　1、第五檔A節(jié)(9-10分)B節(jié)(17-20分)

　　Corruption cases are frequently reported by news media. For example, some high ranking officials help themselves to state fund (公款) illegally. For another example, some leaders abuse power (濫用權力). What＇s more, malpractice(玩忽職守，瀆職), bribery (賄賂) and other corrupt behaviour do much harm. As a result, the healthy development of the economy is seriously affected.

　　As China continues its reforms and opens wider to the outside world, anti corruption is a question of priorities. Our government has realized the seriousness of corruption problems. Corruption presents a dreadful threat to state interests. Corruption cases seriously damage efforts to build a clean and honest government, undoubtedly dampen(潑冷水，挫傷) people＇s enthusiasm(熱情) and heavily affect stability(穩(wěn)定).

　　In the future, to cement (鞏固) the fruits that reform has borne, an even greater effort is needed in the battle against corrupt behaviour. 　　according to a recent survey, more than 80 percent of americans complain that they do not have the time to do what they really want to do, let alone enjoy the leisure time. it is a tragedy. we live in a constraint state, unable to pursue our interests.the so-called past pace of information society has made most people feel uncomfortable. computer, microwave, gimmicks and gadgets, all these appliances require far more complicated knowledge and techniques than ever before. and just to feel more secure about their relationship with technology, people make great efforts to follow the heels of the latest inventions, weary, reluctant and unhappy.i know lots of people who avoid recreation because they lack the time or the energy. achievement is the national god, worshipped in our media the million dollar athlete, the wealthy executive and glorified in our praise of possessions. in the presence of such a influential state religion, how can people ever "waste" their valuable time on taking up such "extravagance" as leisure when they could have learned or earned more during that period?
