i had flown into dallas for the sole purpose of calling on a client。 time was of the essence and my plan included a quick turnaround trip from and back to the airport。 a spotless cab pulled up。 the driver rushed to open the passenger door for me and made sure i was comfortably seated before he closed the door。 as he got in the driver's seat， he mentioned that the neatly folded wall street journal next to me was for my use。 he then showed me several tapes and asked me what type of music i would enjoy。 well! i looked around for a "candid camera!" wouldn't you? i could not believe the service i was receiving! i took the opportunity to say， "obviously you take great pride in your work。 you must have a story to tell。""you bet，" he replied， "i used to be in corporate america。 but i got tired of thinking my best would never be good enough。 i decided to find my niche in life where i could feel proud of being the best i could be。 i knew i would never be a rocket scientist， but i love driving cars， being of service and feeling like i have done a full day's work and done it well。 i evaluate my personal assets and… wham! i became a cab driver。 one thing i know for sure， to be good in my business i could simply just meet the expectations of my passengers。 but， to be great in my business， i have to exceed the customer's expectations! i like both the sound and the return of being 'great' better than just getting by on 'average'"。

接下來考的是閱讀及寫作，題目多到讓我眼花了亂，尤其是語法題，那是我最弱的項(xiàng)目，我足足花了二十分鐘才寫完題目呢！競賽進(jìn)行到一半，居然有考生打了起來，真是令人難以置信，考場上竟然會上演爭吵的劇情，簡直就像個賣場一樣鬧哄哄的。雖然吵鬧聲一時讓我覺得心煩氣躁，但不一會兒回過神來，我還是努力地靜下心來趕緊在時間內(nèi)完成題目。
最后考的是聽力測驗(yàn)，我專心致志的聽著音檔，當(dāng)下雖然老師對正在爭吵的同學(xué)顯得束手無策，但我不斷的告訴自己不管任何情況都不能分心，集中精神，一定可以輕而易舉地作完題目，最后，我終于完成了這個挑戰(zhàn)，雖然競賽成果還未公布，但這是我前所未有的體驗(yàn)，真是緊張、害怕、驚險、又恐怖的一天。

It is not surprising that you to say it is small when you see my bedroom. However, I will tell you it is bright and clean though it is not big enough. As you enter my bedroom, you will see a window with light purple and white curtains. The window is a large one that makes my bedroom seem bright and warm. On your right, you can find my bed. The bed, which is covered with green and white bedspread, is small but soft. I would like to put some plush toys on it, for instance, a teddy bear. Above my bed hangs an air conditioning which provides cool wind in the summer. Also, a beside cupboard is next to my bed. On your left, there is a bookcase close to the big window in the corner, filled with plenty of my favourite books, for example, Gone With The Wind. Next to the bookcase stands my desk and chair. On the desk, there are many useful books, such as dictionary, books on my specialized courses. Also, a table lamp can help me study at night. Over the desk, there is a picture of orchids on the wall. If I feel tired, I will stop working and studying, just enjoying the beautiful flower. Turn around, and then you can see a big mirror just next to the door which makes my room seem bigger. This is my bedroom, a small one, but it bring me great warm and happiness. I can relax myself and learn knowledge in it.
