In a couple of weeks beyond, a large number of foreign friends will come to China to join us in enjoying the Olympics. Before foreign guests, we should have an easy manner and behave politely and warm-heartedly. In public places, such ugly behaviors as uproar, pushing or squeezing together, spitting and so on should be determinedly forbidden. In a sense, each of us will not simply stand for ourselves but stand for China. Therefore, boys and girls, let’s do it well right now and the eyes of the world are to on us!

　　那是在五年級的時候，老師說：“邢臺市教委要舉辦‘少年英語口語大賽’�！眳⒓痈傎愂俏覊裘乱郧蟮�，于是第一個報了名。經(jīng)過學區(qū)、市教委選拔，結果我朝思暮想的愿望實現(xiàn)了。

　　我高高興興的準備了講演稿，又經(jīng)老師修改了一番，便如饑似渴的演練起來。英語不同漢語那么好背，感情也不好表現(xiàn)，練了好幾天，老師檢驗總是不合格，這次我真正體會到“臺上一分鐘，臺下十年功”。經(jīng)過幾天的演練。終于，把她背了個滾瓜爛熟。好不容易等到了比賽的那一天，老師領著我們興高采烈的奔赴邢臺賽區(qū)。

　　進入賽場，我一看名單我在四十多號呢！心想還早呢，就在心里默默地背著稿子……轉眼間，剩下幾個人就輪到我了。就在我走上臺的那一剎那，看到幾十名參賽的學生和前排坐著的十幾位評委，其中還有一個“老外”，驀地心里多了幾分緊張，就想揣著一只小兔子似的.，“怦怦”直跳，只見老師在后面看我，從眼神中看得出是在鼓勵我，給我加油！頓時，我有了膽量，我閉眼深吸一口氣，輕輕松松的演講起來，想春節(jié)放鞭炮一樣，一氣呵成。這時，我看到了評委滿意的笑容，老師也高興的笑了，我提在嗓子眼兒的石頭也終于落了地。

　　回到學校，我天天等、日日盼。終于等到了比賽結果，劉校長滿懷喜悅地來到我們教室，喜笑顏開的對我說：“浩鵬，你這次參加的英語口語競賽得了二等獎。”我簡直不敢相信自己的耳朵，驚訝地說：“是嗎？”我接過證書，只見最上面寫著四個金黃的蒼勁有力的大字“榮譽證書”。這時我心花怒放抑制不住內(nèi)心的喜悅，像一只快樂的小鳥飛回了家，把獎狀高高舉起，讓爸爸媽媽們看，他們異口同聲的夸我“孩子，真棒！”

　　這次英語口語競賽，至今使我難以忘懷，是將成為我終生美好的回憶，也將是我終生的激勵！

Some people, especially the middle-aged and elderly, argue that playing with firecrackers during the Spring Festival is a traditional ritual. 　　For example, a primary-school pupil was badly injured by fireworks in Shanghai last Spring Festival. In ray opinion, although the deafening sound and strong smell of firecrackers and fireworks give us a festive atmosphere, the negative effects on our environment and health are too great.

　　With the increasing awareness of the Chinese people on the importance of environmental protection and with our central and local governments efforts, I believe this tradition will be replaced by some new way of celebration soon.
