　　中國(guó)的萬(wàn)里長(zhǎng)城被稱(chēng)為“萬(wàn)里長(zhǎng)城”。事實(shí)上，它有6000多公里長(zhǎng)。它蜿蜒地從西向東，穿過(guò)沙漠，越過(guò)高山，穿過(guò)山谷，直到最后到達(dá)大海。它是世界奇觀之一。

　　長(zhǎng)城有二十多個(gè)世紀(jì)的歷史。它的第一部分是在春秋時(shí)期建造的。戰(zhàn)國(guó)時(shí)期，有更多的城墻被用來(lái)保衛(wèi)不同王國(guó)的邊界。正是在秦朝，秦國(guó)把帝夫的發(fā)福部分統(tǒng)一為一個(gè)帝國(guó)。為了把敵人趕出他的帝國(guó)，秦始皇把所有的城墻連在一起。于是，長(zhǎng)城誕生了。

　　長(zhǎng)城的寬度足以讓五匹馬或十個(gè)人并排走。沿著墻的是瞭望塔，士兵們常常在那里守望。當(dāng)敵人到來(lái)時(shí)，在塔上點(diǎn)燃了火作為警告。

　　在古代沒(méi)有任何現(xiàn)代機(jī)器的情況下，很難建造這樣一堵墻。所有的工作都是手工完成的。成千上萬(wàn)的人死了，被埋在他們建造的城墻下。長(zhǎng)城不僅是由石頭和泥土建成的，而且是幾百萬(wàn)人的'血肉所組成的。
