　　每年的農(nóng)歷最后一天，是我們中國人最盛大的節(jié)日--春節(jié)。每到這天，家家戶戶都會在門上貼春聯(lián)，在外面放鞭炮，包美味的餃子，守歲以及等等紀(jì)念活動。

　　對這次風(fēng)采大賽，我可是通過了層層選拔才脫穎而出進入決賽的。比賽是下午進行，我早早地來到會場作準(zhǔn)備。比賽開始前，我被老師帶進三號賽場。只見會場正面墻上貼著“英語風(fēng)采大賽”的背景布，邊上是用漂亮的紅、藍、黃氣球串成的氣球彩虹帶，非常美麗。會場前坐著三位知識豐富的大賽評委。

　　比賽開始了，同學(xué)們都緊張起來。第一個上場的'是孔維澤，只見她邁著大步上了臺，落落大方地和評委打了個招呼：“hello，everyone……”然后開始了她的一分鐘自我介紹，隨后又講了一個英語小故事，非常精彩地完成了她的比賽。時間在一分一秒中過去，終于輪到我了，我邁著大步自信地走上臺，禮貌地鞠了一個躬后，開始了我的一分鐘介紹：“Good afternoon，everyone……”然后我講了《烏龜和兔子》的英語小故事，表演了才藝，圓滿完成了老師的英語問答。

　　Then, what s the effect of cheating on exam? There are three factors for this. First, it results in an unfair competition and will destroy the creativity of those bright students. Third, under that kind of circumstances, the students graduated from the schools will not be the one who can meet the need of the society.

　　However, how to stop cheating on exam? In my opinion, there are two ways we can adopt. First, a severe punishment should be put into effect to prevent students from cheating. Second, great effort should be made to make students understand what kind of person the society needs and try to improve their self-confidence.

　　How to Use the Library

　　A library is a building for a collection of books, magazines, periodicals and newspapers. The books are kept on the shelves in the stack room whereas rihe magazines,journals,etc. in the reading rooms. Modern libraries also have xerox rooms, and computer rooms.

　　If you want to borrow books, you can go to the loan desk, look over the correct call numbers in the card catalog and ask the librarian to take them out for you. Or you＇re allowed to enter the stack room to find books for yourself, you can look up the bound volume of index for the articles relative to the subject, on which you are going to write a thesis. If the library doesn＇t subscribe to the magazine which carries the article you want, you can borrow the magazine from other libraries by means of interlibrary loan service. Don＇t forget to show your library card or I.D. card to the librarian before you go into the reading room, where you can read magazines or newspapers. If you find a good article and want to keep it, you can have it duplicated in the xerox room. Besides, if you want to watch films or slides, you can ask the projectionist to play the videotape for you in theaudio-visual room, where you can.also listen to language tapes and music tapes.

　　In modern society, traditional patriarchy is still influencing Chinese parents. They tend to make almost all decisions for their children, from choosing schools to picking up a profession.Sometimes even many detailed things such as clothing and diets have to be decided by parents.

　　However, deciding everything for children does not help them but harm them in many ways. On the one hand, it will make children lack independence and initiative, which is unfavorable to their development in the long run. On the other hand, in many cases, parents' decisions are not always in accordance with their children's personal ideas and interest. It will make children form resistance and naturally influence their growth.

　　From my point of view, it is unwise for parents to male every decision for their children. It's obvious that parents cannot accompany their children all the time. Growing to be independent is the natural way for everybody. Therefore, parents should give their children rights to make their own decisions. They can help their children but not replace them to make choices.
