　　"Life， liberty and the pursuit of happiness。" The authors of the American Declaration proclaimed happiness to be one of the essential rights that make life worth living。 William James， the first American psychologist， echoed this emphasis on happiness: "If we were to ask the question: 'What is human life's chief concern? One of the answers we should receive would be: 'It is happiness。'" Every philosophical and religious system has offered its pathway to happiness for the individual and the group。 Happiness has been related to pleasure， refuge from pain， intellectual contemplation， union with God， friendship， children， wealth， honor， successful activity， and even state burial with statues! Watching a movie or television is fun activities that help us relax, temporarily forget our problems and even laugh. But they do not bring happiness, because their positive effects end when the fun ends.

　　The way people cling to the belief that a fun-filled, painfree life equals happiness actually diminishes their chances of ever attaining real happiness. If fun and pleasure are equated with happiness, then pain must be equated with unhappiness, but in fact, the opposite is tree. More often than not, things that lead to happiness involves some pain. It seems no fun undertaking some hard work, but when you finish it successfully, you will feel happy.

　　到了測繪局爸爸看看他自己的手表說：“現(xiàn)在離上課還有三個小時，咱們到秋林食街吃一點東西吧！”我興奮的說：“好��！好啊！我的肚子早都餓得咕咕直叫了！”我們又奔向秋林食街，那里的小吃真多�。∥屹I了一碗酸菜方便面，爸爸買了一碗小江刀削面特別好吃，吃完了飯，我們回到車上睡了一會兒，起來的時候，已經(jīng)快一點了，我們走向教室，那里還沒有人來，我們只好在教室里等著上課了。不一會兒喬老師來了，爸爸和喬老師聊天，而我只能等著我的好朋友，沒多久劉儲聞和梁千芮來了我們互相聊了一會兒。終于上課了，在課堂上我們很高興，我最喜歡的是老師讓我們做的那個游戲，男生和女生分開坐，女生換到左邊，男生換到右邊，同時老師叫出來家長一起參與。游戲規(guī)則是：老師叫上來兩個學(xué)生，必須是一男一女，、把他們叫到身邊，老師在單詞書上用藍(lán)筆畫出的單詞是他喜歡的，然后讓同學(xué)做動作，看女生先喊出來這個單詞還是男生先喊出來。游戲的時候大家爭先恐后的'搶著發(fā)言，女生贏了，滿教室一片慶祝勝利的尖叫聲，男孩兒們則很不服輸?shù)恼f再玩兒一局，教室里充滿了歡聲笑語，連家長們都興奮地參與了進來。

　　At one counter an old lady was choosing gloves red ones for her daugher in law， light blue ones for her niece， pink ones for her grand daughter， green ones for her sister and by the time she had found what she wanted， the counter was covered with pairs of all colors and sizes。

　　When the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice。 "Thank you very much， madam，" the old lady suddenly cried out， "Oh， I almost forgot。。。"——"Anything else， madam?" said the girl， "Yes，" began the old lady， "I＇d like to buy another pair， but I＇ m not quite sure about what exactly I should cloose。 I wonder if you could help me。" "Certainly， madam"， was the girl＇s reply。 The old lady then went on to explain that what she was looking for was a pair of gloves for a girl of her age。 She was not at ail sure what color to choose， and the design was a problem too。
