　　When men began to like together in small communities, they it was necessary to find ways of sending messages from one community to another. Even in earliest times there were several different ways this could be done.

　　Really rapid communication was not possible until electricity was put to work. In 1844 the first electric telegraph was constructed. Thirty years later the telephone was invented. Soon a whole succession of inventions was produced: the wireless telegraph and the radio, the motion picture, and television.

　　Earth satellites today bring valuable information almost instantaneously to our homes by means of electrical signals.

　　今天下午，我去上劍橋英語，到了少年宮，我心里想：“這次我一定要好好聽講，認(rèn)真學(xué)習(xí)，爭取得到老師的表揚。如果老師沒有表揚到我，那可就說明我做的不夠好�！蔽壹泵�來到自己的位子上，放下書包，把作業(yè)拿出來。我等了一會兒，老師和同學(xué)都來了，我們就開始上課了。

　　老師微笑著說：“這節(jié)課我們來復(fù)習(xí)一下以前學(xué)的字母的大小寫……”說著，老師點名字讓我們上去寫，大家都舉起手來。

　　我也舉起手，而且很端正，老師叫我上去寫大寫的.C，我拿起一只粉筆，在黑板上寫，等我寫完了，大家都舉起手，有的說我寫得太大，有的說我寫得太方了。我心里想：“我確實得好好練習(xí)寫字母了，我也覺得我寫得有點難看了，比如太大了，太方了，太瘦了等等�！�

　　于是，趁老師讓我們每個字母大小寫寫一遍的機會，我就抓緊時間練習(xí)。

　　我字母雖然寫得有點不好看，但我發(fā)言很積極。聽，老師又要提問了，“同學(xué)們……”轉(zhuǎn)眼間，十幾只小手都舉了起來，老師叫到了我，我站起來，大聲又響亮地回答：“它的特點是……”。非常好，王羽婷同學(xué)講得非常好！老師連連稱贊我，我高興地笑了。

　　我又在練習(xí)寫字了，終于，功夫不負(fù)有心人，老師來到我身邊，看了看我寫的字母，說：“你寫的真好看！”我聽了再一次笑了。
