my unforgettable trip
when i was a primary school student, my family and i took a trip to five cities which were in the south of china.
first, we came to nanjing by plane. that was the first time i had taken the plane and it took us an hour and a half to get there. we arrived in nanjing in the morning. at 11:30 we went to a restaurant to have lunch. the food tasted delicious. in the afternoon we went to “zhongshanling”. it was the place that preserve the tomb of mr. sugshan.
the next day, we came to wuxi and then suzhou where we visited the region of rivers and lakes of “周莊”. it was a beautiful and old place. the house there were along the river and the women always washed clothes at the bank.the fourth day, we came to hangzhou where we visited “the west lake. it was very beautiful and the water was clear .
as we all know, hangzhou is famous for silk and tea, so we bought some beautiful silk and famous tea of “龍井”.the last place that we visited was shanghai. it was one of the biggest city is china. the night view in shanghai was more beautiful than beijing. we visited the tv tower of “東方明珠”. it was the third tallest tower in the world. standing in the tower you could see the whole city. in the evening, we lived in a hotel with 25 floors. i was very excited that evening.
this trip took us seven days and we went back to beijing by plane. the plane was very very big. there were three engine rooms. i felt happy and i would never forget the trip.
if i were to leave my home for a year, there is one thing i definitely would take with me: my cell phone. with my cell phone, i could call my friends or family if i ever was lonely, needed advice, or just wanted to talk.
if i were away from home for a year, i would be very lonely, especially in the beginning before i made friends. if i could call my mother and father, i would hear their familiar voices and i would not feel so lonely. hearing my friends’ voices would also help me overcome my sadness.
i’ve never been on my own so there are many things i am not familiar with. i’ve never opened a bank account, got a driver’s license, or made my own food. if i had to cook chicken or something, i could call up my mother and she could tell me how to make dinner.
sometimes, i may just want to talk in my own language. with my cell phone, i could call my friends and tell them about my new life. this would make them jealous of me.

上午，同學們都穿著血紅色的班服來到教室，個個都精神抖擻臉上露著神氣的笑容，大家都想為班級爭光，加緊練習準備在比賽中大顯身手。一轉(zhuǎn)眼之間，就到了中午，大家都已迫不及待了，胡亂地吃了幾口飯，便回到教室里去了，有的同學在想像著當時的場面，有的在教室里瘋玩，還有的在高歌;“我們是共產(chǎn)主義接班人……”突然，李壵坷闖進來喊：“蔣老師來了!”同學們都回到座位上安靜地做作業(yè)。蔣老師走進教室，說：“把手中的東西放在一邊，我們準備化妝了!”“啊!”邊柯尖叫起來，興奮的心情一下子沉重起來，突然邊柯像脫韁的野馬似的逃離出教室，東躲西藏的。大家都化好了妝，陸續(xù)地進入了場地，首先，主持人陳蔚然用流利的英語說了報幕詞。301班唱隊歌了，他們那嘹亮的歌聲傳進我們的耳朵里，我們不比你們差呢!我在心里嘀咕著。輪到我們班了!邁著整齊的步伐上了臺，合著音樂，指揮員汪婷打起了節(jié)拍，響亮的歌聲燃起：“我們是共產(chǎn)主義接班人，繼承……”結(jié)束后，指揮員向評委，觀眾鞠了一躬，我們便下了臺。我和其他七位唱英文歌的同學來到后場換衣服。301班的英文歌結(jié)束后，緊接著我們上了臺唱英文歌《i’m a littlesnman》了，跟著音樂，穿著漂亮的公主裙，做著優(yōu)著的動作，唱著動聽的歌曲：“i’m little teaput，short and stout……”我們大家都感到自豪與驕傲。
這次英語文藝術(shù)節(jié)圓滿結(jié)束，但動聽的歌聲仍在我腦海里飄蕩。
work while you work and play while you play, this is the way to be happy and gay. ”the .art festival① held in our school let us have a good time after the hard work of a long term .on friday afternoon at the end of last term, our class, that is, class 5 of senior two, had a wonderful party to celebrate this happy festival.
first we had music and dance----piano sonata②, exciting songs, brilliant waltz③ dance, then most popular disco④ music, etc, ---- all this made us extremely happy.
then we had one competition after another. it was soon about five o'clock before we knew it. the most exciting program began: cooking competition . each group of our class had to make some special dishes . at once students became cooks, though they coudn't tell the salt from gourmet powder⑤ the day before.
at seven o'clock all dishes were ready.“ah, it tastes wonderfully delicious,”someone shouted. then here and there applause was heard.
at last we had to finish our party . when we said good-bye to each other, we had the same feeling in our hearts: “we wish to have more and more of such wonderful time in our school life. we young students need to be happy after our lessons . our life should be filled with joy.”
our art festival

the summer palace can be divided into two parts: longevity hill and kunming lake. the whole garden covers an area of 290 hectares, of which three- fourths consists of a lake and rivers. this imperial garden features 3,000 room-units and covers an expanse of 70,000 square meters with more than 100 picturesque spots of interest. the layout of the summer palace includes three groups of architectures: palaces where the emperor attended to state affairs, resting palaces of the emperor and empress, and sightseeing areas. entering the east gate we will come the office quarters. entering the east gate we will come to the office quarters. the annex halls on both sides were used for officials on duty.
this is the gate of benevolence and longevity. above the door there is a plaque bearing the same name in both chinese and manchurian characters. the gigantic rock in the foreground is known as taihu rock, or eroded limestone, quarried in jiangsu province and placed here to decorated the garden.
on the marble terrace sits a bronze mythical beast, known as qilin or xuanni. it was said to the one of the nine sons of dragon king. a point of peculiar interest is that it has the head of a dragon, antlers of a deer, the tail of a lion and hooves of an ox, and is covered with a unique skin. it was considered an auspicious creature that brought peace and prosperity.
this grand hall is the hall of benevolence and longevity. it was built in 1750, and was known as the hall of industrious government. emperor qianlong ruled that the halls where monarchs attended to state affairs would be named after them. after the rebuilding of the summer palace, the hall was renamed, suggesting that benevolent rulers would enjoy long lives.
the arrangement of the hall has been left untouched. in the middle of the hall stands a throne made of sandalwood and carved with beautiful designs. in the background there is a screen carved with nine frolicking dragons. on either side of the throne there are two big fans made of peacock feathers, two column-shaped incense burners, crane-shaped lanterns and an incense burner assuming the form of luduan, a mythological animal which was suppose to have the power to prevent fire. the small chambers on eight side were where the emperor qianlong and empress dowager cixi rested and met officials on formal occasions.
on the verandah in the foreground of the hall there are bronze statues of dragon and phoenixes which served as incense burners on major occasions. they are hollow and smoke comes through holes on their backs. also on the veranda are tai ping (peace) bronze water vats made during the reign of emperor qianlong. as a precaution in case of fire, a fire was lit underneath the vats in the winter to keep the water in them from freezing.
